For Christmas, I got a digital photo frame that I absolutely adore. For those who take digital photos, a digital photo frame gives you an easy, flexible way to view and share your photos.

Digital Frames Direct has a lot of digital photo frames to choose. There is also plenty of information for the first-time buyer to find information about digital photo frames like what type of memory cards they use, etc. You can also find user reviews of digital photo frames.

I can tell you that I love mine. It is, aside from my PSP, the best Christmas present ever. So, as you can tell, I think that digital picture frames make great gifts and so does Digital Frames Direct. They even have information on giving digital photo frames as corporate gifts.

My digital photo frame stays at home but I would love a second one for work. With all the digital photo frames at Digital Frames Direct, I am sure to find something within budget and perfect for work.

Room reorganization

So, we’ve been working on getting our two-year-old’s room in order. It means getting all of the storage stuff out it and actually turning it into a bedroom. Once we have her room done, we will move to the bath and a new tub and possibly Price Pfister faucets.

We put together her toddler bed. Well, I should say, Daddy and Rae put it together.

She seems to really like her bed. She definitely enjoys being able to get in it all by herself. It feels good to finally see some visual improvement in her room. Hopefully it won’t take us another six months to finish it.

The Shaggy Dog

Next week new TV shows will once again start trickling into the lineup. But for now we have been watching movies. We rented the original Shaggy Dog. It’s kind of fun to watch these older movies every once in a while. The charm and humor of them is hard to find in modern movies.

The dad hates dogs, ofcourse. He is acting allergic to them and not even exam gloves will help him with his phobia. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie, translation it will be like watching it for the first time since I seldom remember movie plots.

Ah, now I’m remember the movie. I always have an “ah-ha” moment if I’m lucky. I couldn’t remember how the family got the dog but now I’m remembering that it’s the son who is transformed into the dog. I guess it’s time to stop writing about the movie and enjoy watching it.

Car Magnets

An idea I had this week to cheaply publicize my blogs is to get some magnets to place on my car. I had thought about making some small ones to stick on there for people to grab one if they would like. I would also like a flagship magnet for the website I want to promote.

I’ve used Vista Print before for business cards and was very pleased with the results. I hadn’t realized the Vista Print also does car magnets. You can use one of their templates or upload your own. I found one that was perfect for my Geeky Housewife blog:

vistageek.jpg

As my two-year-old would say, ‘I love it!.’ It is very fetching and would certainly get noticed. That is not my number but if I did order this, I would have to think of a short, witty saying to put there.

Not only does Vista Print has business cards and rubber stamps, but now they offer car magnets. They even come in two sizes, small(11.25″ x 8.5″) and large(17.3″ x 11.25″). I’m excited about my car magnet idea for promoting my blog. With more people being having access to WIFI and the Internet through their phones, this could be a wonderful way to increase traffic.

Vista Print also sells t-shirts and pens, which both would be great promotional tools. If the car magnet idea works well, then I might have to further my marketing efforts.

Branson Fun

A few years ago, we went to Branson with some friends and had a great time. We didn’t see any of the shows of visit any of the many attractions. We did go shopping at one of the many outlet malls located there.

It would be wonderful to go back with our little girl Rae. Right now she is really into butterflies, and in Branson is the Butterfly Palace where all kinds of butterflies can be found. I can just imagine the wonderment in her eyes with seeing all the many different kind of butterflies.

Aside from the Butterfly Palace, Rae would love Silver Dollar City, which is a theme park located in Branson. Besides having 30 rides, local artisans show off their crafts at Silver Dollar City. So, it has rides for Rae and shopping for me.

With Branson Getaways, we can plan a custom vacation package to Branson. From which shows we want to see to attractions we don’t want to miss, we can build the package that best fits us. A little extra help when planning our next trip to Branson will be a welcomed change since there is so much to see and do.

It’s a trip that I look forward to us taking since Rae will surely love it.

A Watch for Him

My husband has mentioned on more than on occasion that he would really like a kinetic watch. A kinetic watch is one that doesn’t need a battery but runs off the power generated from the motion when you wear it. Pretty neat, I think. Imagine never having to buy a battery ever again. He usually wears a watch for a few months and then may not wear it for six months, only to find it has a dead battery. With a kinetic watch he can pick up and wear it anything, knowing that it will work.

A Seiko watch could be just the thing since they do have several kinetic watches. One with a black face with a a stainless steel case is definitely his style.

Even though he says that you shouldn’t buy a loved one a watch, if I got him a Seiko kinetic watch he would approve.

IT Needs

A friend had asked me for an email of a former co-worker, so I had decided to check my memory by going to their website. Much to my surprise, the company’s website had been updated. Now while we had an IT department, I noticed that the Internet provider had redesigned the website. I thought that was a good move since there are capable people of doing it who work for the company but sometimes it’s better to outsource some tasks.

Sometimes even computer repair can be too much for your inside IT folks. There are many computer repair service companies that can take care of all of your IT needs. Fast Teks works with companies and residents to provide affordable services and technical computer help. Fast Tek is a leading on site computer service company. It’s good to go with people who know their stuff especially when it comes to IT.

L337 Recruiting

Have you seen these webisode videos featuring Kettering University’s Stickman? They are a funny and really a great way to showcase the university to potential students.

Kettering University is in Michigan and is known for it’s engineering, math, science, and business programs. In fact, it’s listed in US News Best Colleges and is ranked number one university in the nation for Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.

Stickman is the star of their web comic that is a light-hearted way to introduce students to the university and what is has to offer. This is my favorite episode where Stickman answers fan mail. The videos are actually full of useful information about applying to college and paying for it.

Kettering may be best know for its mechanical engineering program but does offer other degree programs. They also have a co-op program where students actually work for an employer for a semester and then go to school for a semester. Co-ops are great since they can provide much needed money for college as well as valuable work experience. Everyone I knew in college who did a co-op went on to work for that company after college.

If a university has their own web comic must be one that is worth a closer look. My college days are behind me or I would be interested in attending a place that has a sense of humor and is nationally recognized for its programs.
