Bargains

I not only like game bargains but grocery bargains, too. The prices just seem to go up each week at the local grocer. That’s one reason I’ve started using grocery coupons that can help me to save some money.

The Penny Pincher Gazette is a free resource for finding and printing grocery coupons. I usually check the weekly grocery fliers for deals and specials. But having a one-stop website to find those deals cuts down time, especially since you can print coupons that you need.

Not only can you find the weekly circulars but recipes and articles. The recipes featured also have a coupon for one of the ingredients. That makes finding something to cook that much more affordable.

If it’s not a game bargain, then at least let it be a grocery bargain. There are plenty of those to find at the Penny Pincher Gazette.

A New Game for Hubby

My husband is a Civilization III fiend. He loves this game and plays it every day. He seems to play to unwind, so today, after I’ve made fun of him for weeks for playing this older game, decided to go buy a new game.

He didn’t find any he wanted. I told him to check out Big Fish Games since I have two credits. There might be something that he will find interesting. Most casual games that he plays do not carry the replay value that his Civ III does. It’s amazing how many times he can play through this game.

Hopefully if he doesn’t find anything at Big Fish he can take a second look at the PC games at the gaming store.

Bella Sara

Bella Sara is a collectible card game that is geared toward young girls. Bella Sara features horses. You can take the codes from the cards and enter them in the Bella Sara website, creating your own virtual horse.

From there you can brush her hair or take her out of the stable. You won’t need any equestrian clothing to enjoy having a horse. Bella Sara reinforces positive ideas, so it helps to boost self-esteem of young girls. So, unlike a lot of card games, this one has a different goal. It’s not about game play but the positive message behind each card.

The latest expansion is Native Lights that is available in some stores like Target.

Portable Gaming

The best thing about my Nintendo DS is that I can play it anywhere. I love to play a few minutes before bed each night. Some people read. Some people game.

My pillows aren’t good to prop up in bed but something like a sleep wedge would work perfect. It would give me the support and prop I needed to play comfortably in bed.

While some may find playing games an odd way to wind down from a full day, it really helps to just put the cares of the day away. I usually play about 10-15 minutes until I am ready to call it a night.

My DS really needs another screen protector. I’ve bought one but can’t get the other one off. Maybe I can find some tips on how to get that screen off.

Portable gaming is great. My DS has been one of my favorite gaming purchases. I almost play it daily, so it’s been worth every penny.

Games with Broad Appeal

Wouldn’t it be great if games could be like the product lipovox and offer something for everyone? Like a strategic gamer could enjoy the same games as a sim gamer.

This would definitely give gamers something in common. Imagine having a game in common with someone who loved World of Warcraft? Some games do cross game genres but I really wish more did.

The number of causal MMO games is on the rise. Who knows. Soon gamers that once were all about strategy games might find enjoyment and value with casual games that are ‘on their turf.’
