So, they’ve gotten married and been on their dream honeymoon. Now Robert and Jenny are moving into their first home in this third installment of the hidden object Dream Day series.

They’ll need help from choosing their first home to choosing their patio furniture. Aside from the hidden object level of this game, there are several mini-games to master.

Peggle Nights

News 1 Comment »

Boy am I glad that I don’t dismiss every newsletter that comes to my inbox because I would have missed this news.

peggle.jpg

The latest version of Peggle, Peggle Nights, is due to be released this summer. This is one of my favorite casual games. Think of Peggle as pinball but with less control because once you shoot the ball, then you have little control over it. You have to clear the board of all orange objects to advance. Clearing the board completely will earn you extra points.

Peggle is from Popcap Games and is a lot of fun. It’s also a fairly long casual game although you may complete the ten levels. There are many other challenges to this fun casual game.

Peggle Nights is set to be released at the end of July.

Now here is a free online game that not only is surprisingly fun but addicting as well. It’s called TypeRacer and you can practice your typing skills while competing with others.

What slows me down is mistakes. You have to fix them before you can go on to the next word. I’m not a fast typist as my fingernails get in the way. You can even put in on your My Space page or other social networking site to challenge your friends. It’s a fun, fast game and a great time waster.

Paradoxion

Reviews No Comments »

Paradoxion is a causal game that puts a different twist on the match three model. If you like solving puzzles and challenging games, then Paradoxion is one to give a try.

paradx.jpg

Each level in the game has a board with gems and/or orbs. You have a reserve of gems and orbs that you can freely place onto the board. The object is to make chains to set them off and clear the playing board of all objects. Where the last gem is placed in a sequence of three is very important because it sets off a blast. It will move orbs next to it but only goes in a certain direction. Luckily if you place it incorrectly there is an undo button.

Also you can turn on hints that will show at the beginning of each puzzle that will give you some insight on how to solve the puzzle like ‘place red orb last.’ It is definitely helpful, especially in the early levels if you aren’t sure of which way to approach a puzzle. Another great feature is that if a puzzle completely stumps you, you can look at the solution online. I know there have been countless games that I have gotten to a point where I just couldn’t go any further. So it’s nice with Paradoxion that not only can you find the solution but see how it can be solved and learn from it. Maybe that next puzzle won’t be so hard or intimidating.

You can also create your own levels with gems and orbs to share with your friends. Overall, Paradoxion is a fun, challenging casual game. It’s a good exercise in logic and puzzle solving.

Bookworm Adventures

As seems to be the case every month, I have two Big Fish game credits. How incredibly generous of me to offer one to my husband since he was looking for something besides Civ III to play(Yes!).

He found an older casual game title Bookworm Adventures. Well it’s not vintage old but by casual games standards, it’s been around a while. From the looks of it, you find words then you are able to fight off the evil-doers to advance in the game. Help Lex build words that then help me battle monsters.

We always enjoyed Bookworm, and we love word games. So I’m not surprised my husband enjoys this title. Not sure if Bookworm Adventures has the staying power to stave off his desire to play Civ III, but at least he is willing to give another game a chance.

No Turning Back

If you are a reader of Romperz, then you have probably know that I am part of PayPerPost. Well recently I signed up for their newest service Social Spark. This blog was turned down because to them I just have it to make money. Well, that makes me very mad since that is not the case.

The problem is that I also work for Pay U2 Blog, which I like better. I think Social Spark can see that and doesn’t want Romperz part of their new service. Since I’m royally pissed by this, there will be no more PayPerPosts on Romperz. All old posts(posts have to be up for 30 days but usually I just leave them alone) will be deleted.

So, the only ‘paid posts’ from here on out with be Payu2Blog and those will be links from posts that contain content that would have appeared on Romperz anyway.

Wii Fit

I’m really looking forward to the release of Wii Fit. First I need to clean the living room, so I will have plenty of room to play this game.

This game looks more like fat burners than a traditional game with all the exercising and moving your body part. But that’s exactly what I’m hoping for. It would be great to burn some fat and lose some weight all because of playing video games. It would be my dream workout.

I worry just what the weight limit on the balance board will be. Hopefully both my husband and I fall below that number. If not it’d be terrible to have to first lose weight before I could even play the darn thing. That would be as almost as bad as having to clean before the maid comes over. Not like a have a maid. I’m way too messy to hire someone to have to sort through this disaster.

Maybe I will do a little research on Wii Fit since there should be some more information out there since we are approaching its US release.

Spring Vacation

My niece went to Atlanta this week to see ‘The Lion King.’ They also toured the Coca-Cola Museum. Her trip to Atlanta made me think back to one of our spring trips to the same city.

It was way back when we had been married for maybe two years. There was a pre-release tournament for some Magic the Gathering set. We had just really gotten into the game and decided to go. The tournament was okay. I didn’t win a game, but I think my husband won a few. We did buy some other collectible cards while there and had a great time playing that game.

We also went to Stone Mountain and saw the laser show. We took a blanket and found us a nice spot to be until the show started. It was so relaxing. The show was a lot of fun and very impressive. There is not telling just what they can do now since technology has advanced so much.

There are plenty of things to do in Atlanta in the spring. Take in a ball game, go to Six Flags, or visit the Coca-Cola Museum. There is so much to do that we are making another trip this fall to Atlanta and hope to work in some more fun stuff.

To find more sightseeing tours, we are checking into Trusted Tours & Attractions because they offer discounts to sightseeing tours in 23 cities, and Atlanta happens to be one of them. I’m also interested in Things to do in Las Vegas since we really want to go there one day.

But that may be a while away. Of course, I can sign up for the Trusted Tours & Attractions newsletter to keep up with all the news and information. That way I won’t forget about their website or our future plans. Plus if I sign up now, I have a chance at winning a handheld GPS that surely will come in handy when we travel to Atlanta.

On Tap This Weekend

Way Off Topic 1 Comment »

Summer is almost here and there are several local events happening this weekend. Today we have a kids expo. It will be a good way to find out what is going on this summer for kids. Sunday is BirdFest at the local zoo but we won’t be able to make that because of a birthday party.

Aside from these activities, I have two casual games for review that I want to get ‘in the bag’ this weekend. One is Slingo and the other is a smaller, independent game with lots of promise, Paradoxion. I’ve really enjoyed playing it so far and can’t wait to share more about it.

It always seems I want to do so much on the weekend and never get half of my projects done. The expo will probably knock out most of my morning and part of the afternoon. The birthday party will take up tomorrow afternoon. Who needs sleep, right?
