Posted on Feb 11, 2008 under Way Off Topic |A few years ago we had a 1989 Nissan Sentra that we drove for many years and put many miles on. It was a good car but we finally had to get rid of it since repairing it was becoming more expensive than the value of the car. We sold the car for $100 and was glad to get that for it. If I had to do it again, I would gladly had donated it to a charity.
There are several charities that will take your car as a donation. One is Car Angel. They take the money earned from their donate car program and make videos for kids and teens. Then organizations can order the DVDs free online to distribute as they see fit. Their videos have Christian-based themes. Here is a sample of their videos that feature a cute donkey named Ollie who is traveling when Jesus lived.
They have already given away 2.4 million videos.You can also watch the videos online.
Next time we have a car for sale, it might be just as easy and more profitable(tax break) to donate it to charity.
