Wedding Dash

Casual Games No Comments »

Being a huge fan of the Diner Dash series, it’s no surprise that I enjoy playing Wedding Dash. There are so many casual games that I will get a “test drive” that sometimes I completely skip getting the full version of some games that I truly enjoy. Wedding Dash is one of those titles.

In Wedding Dash, you are challenged to pull off the couple’s dream wedding. First you listen to their likes and dislikes. Then you choose the food, wedding flowers, and honeymoon destination. If you choose wisely, then you make the couple happy. Then it’s time for the big day. At the reception, it’s your job to keep the guests happy. Here is really where the ‘dash’ part of the game comes into play.

Since I have a Big Fish game credit to use, Wedding Dash might be my choice this month. I’ve gotten to where I really enjoy these time management games a lot.

Games I’d rather play than going to the dentist

I absolutely hate going to the dentist. I would rather do a stint at a drug rehab center than have to spend one minute in the dentist’s chair. Still it’s a necessary evil that must be done on occasion. There are plenty of things that I’d rather do than go to the dentist. In fact there are some not so stellar games that I would gladly play(and enjoy it) than have to face the dentist.

Dr. Mario - While Dr. Mario is a great game, I mean who doesn’t love matching four in a row?, it can be so frustrating to play. The low levels are way too easy and slow while the higher levels are extremely difficult. There just doesn’t seem to be a nice medium for me and the good doctor.

Halo - I suck at Halo and always die. In fact, I think I might be the only player to have zero kills. Also, first person shooters are the worse game genre for me to play and enjoy.

Civilization - My husband absolutely adores Civilization. He plays Civ II like it’s the latest version of the game. Anyway we had the original back in our college days when we worked opposite shifts. Hubby worked nights and would come home at 7am and unwind by playing Civilization. The computer was at the foot of our bed and had no sound control. So instead of waking up around 9am to my alarm clock, I got to hear the horrible sounds of Civ at 7am in the morning. Needless to say, I loathed the game.

There aren’t too many games that I don’t enjoy on some level playing. But there are a select few that I would only rather play under special circumstances like avoiding the dentist.

Game Developers

A fellow blogger recommended the game Elebits for the Wii. She said it was a lot of fun and a lot cheaper than therapy. It sounded she was enjoying it a lot. Also it is one of the cheaper Wii games on the market.

I finally looked it up on EBGames.com and see that it was developed by Konami, a game developer that I blindly trust that I will like their games. So next time I find Elebits I will most likely pick it up.

Deciding to buy Elebits simply because of the developer and a recent comment to one of the post here at Romperz about Guitar Hero III made me wonder if there are game developers you trust more to put out good games than others? The comment had to do with Guitar Hero III being not up to par in certain aspects as the other ones developed by Harmonix.

Have you ever wanted or bought a game based sheerly on who developed the game?

Boogie Bunnies

Boogie Bunnies is a new puzzle game that is coming this week to Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360.

Players work to keep bunnies together in this Qbeez-reminiscent casual game. Keep those bunnies herded together in this 3D puzzler to keep them out of danger. Pull off the right chain and trigger some bunny dances.

Look for Boogie Bunnies this Wednesday, January 16th.

New Batteries

If it’s an electronic device, chances are we have it or want it. I have a laptop, two digital cameras, a digital camcorder, a PDA, a cell phone, and a Nintendo DS. Right now there’s nothing I really want or for that matter need.

But at some point I may need battery replacements for something of mine. My husband also has a work laptop and could need dell laptop batteries for it. I can find plenty of battery choices at AllBatts.com. They are a website that is nothing but batteries. It’s so refreshing to find a website that is so niche that it only has one product. No thumbing through pages of other products to find what I need with AllBatts.com. All they carry is batteries.

Right now all my batteries are good to go, although I would love a second camcorder battery since the charge on it lasts for maybe 45 minutes. When I get serious about buying one, AllBatts.com will be my first choice to find what I need.

Xbox

My husband finally plugged in his Xbox into our system. He hasn’t had it hooked up in months. Playing some of our Xbox games now will be like playing them for the first time.

I am glad he did it because he has said that he will be happy with an Xbox 360 Arcade, which doesn’t offer Xbox playback. So, now if he feels like playing a game on his Xbox he has is set up and ready to go.

We have a few games for the Xbox that we haven’t even played yet. Hubby took his Xbox to a local gaming store where it stayed for months. He finally brought it home about two months ago and just yesterday hooked it up to play.

Now to thumb through our collection to see if anything looks interesting to play this afternoon.

DVD Player

I would have to say that our best purchase from the past few months has been the portable DVD player. Rae loves it and will even watch it with no sound. You don’t even need the dvd subtitle for her to be fascinated by it.

I haven’t yet tried to play games on it but have wanted to try. We don’t have a second TV, so this might be an option to play some games when one of us is watching a program the other isn’t interested in. If not at least we can watch a movie when the TV is being used.

The portable DVD player has been a lifesaver on long trips. It’s easily been the best thing we have bought in a while.

Corvette Dream Car

I have always wanted a Corvette. I doubt I ever have one but it would be so much fun to drive one. I dated a guy in college who owned a Corvette. It was a beautiful car with plush seats and C6 wheels. If I had known that was the closest I would ever get to one, I might have thought twice about letting him go.

There are all these dream day wedding and other casual games, but where are the dream car games? Wouldn’t it be great to put together your dream car and then take it out on the open road? There is probably just such a game out there that I have yet to run across.

DK Monster Truck

Donkey Kong now has his own monster truck that recently made its debut at a Monster Jam show. I’m sure this truck has some sweet features, maybe even a custom billet grille.

I’ve heard of Grave Digger because of the motorized truck that my nephew has, or as he calls it his “billy bob truck.” Who knows. Next Christmas he might want the monkey truck instead as I’m sure there will be a slew of toys coming out featuring this newest monster truck. I might even have to pick up one myself.

A Home and One to Spare

I was thumbing through a Country Living magazine when I noticed an article about this family and their second home. They were able to get their dream weekend ranch home by watching their budget and splurging on those amenities that were most important.

This makes me think that having a second home might not be a bad idea especially if you had a nice cabin in the mountains or a condo near the beach. It would be nice to have a spot just to pack up and head to on the weekends.

My husband’s family use to have a second home that they loved. They would just head to the beach whenever they wanted to and always had a place to stay. It’s not a bad idea. It would definitely give us some more options to place some of our stuff.
