Christmas Gift Potential

One gift idea for my two-year-old is a pair of binoculars. She has recently discovered how much fun it can be to look through a pair. She uses them from each end, so sometimes objects are close and sometimes far away. My dad’s binoculars have been a lot of fun for her to use when we visit. I’m thinking she might enjoy a pair of her own. Besides we might can instill the joy of bird watching at an early age.

Through Wize, I found a lot of binoculars to choose from. Binoculars are rated through user reviews, so not only can I browse a variety of binoculars, I can read other people’s opinion of them. The price range for binoculars are varied. Some even run as much as $1000. That’s a little much to spend on a child’s Christmas present. Luckily there are some cheaper ones with reviews listed as well.

I think it would be a nice gift for her since she does enjoy them. A pair of binoculars could be a great family gift since we could use them at football games, bird watching, or at a concert. I might just make it a gift for us instead of for the girl as she might not let us borrow them. You know how toddlers can get.

Dreamblade

Dreamblade is a collectible minis game from Wizards of the Coast. You build your warband and then do battle with your opponent. The first to six victory points wins the games. It’s a straightforward, easy game that has some nice figures.

Wizards has canceled the game, so that means all boosters and starters are incredibly cheap. While I’m sad the game is canceled, I’m pretty excited about the price cut. We bought boosters at $2 a box. That’s $13 cheaper than they normally sell for.

Apparently Wizards does plan to continue to support the game through 2007 and 2008 tournaments. If you like to play, now is the time to get some cheap minis and still be able to enjoy tournaments around the country.
