A Rainy Day

Way Off Topic No Comments »

While we are receiving some much needed rain, it does limit the options on what we can do. There is always the option of playing games but sometimes it’s just as fun to sit and read.

Our lighting needs some work, some quoizel lighting would be a good choice. The rainy, dark day really shows just how much we really need some lighting.

Another problem with rainy days is all I want to do is sleep. The rain is like a gentle lullaby. It’s so hard to resist. Although we desperately need the rain, I will be glad when the sun shines again.

Bingory

Board Games 1 Comment »

Bingory is Bingo and Memory rolled into one. It’s a fun all-wooden board game from the company Blue Orange Games.

Each board piece is made up of four squares that feature pictures of different items. Players take turns trying to find those items on the matching tiles. When they have made a match and it’s an item on their board, then they place those pieces on it. When they have matched all four items, they win the game.

Bingory is easy enough for very young children to play. Even if they don’t get the game, they will have fun playing with the sturdy pieces.

Emergency Room Code Red

Legacy Games has this casual game called Emergency Room Code Red. I’ve never played it but from the preview might be worth a look. The doctors aren’t performing plastic surgery in Manhattan, NY. It’s set in a hospital and looks to be more like ER than Nip and Tuck.

It’s up to you to diagnose patients when they come in. I do love sim games, but this genre of games I’ve never tried. Who knows, I might really enjoy it. There is no demo for the game but it only retails for $9.99. The next time I’m feeling like a change in casual games, I will definitely have to look this one up.

A Trogdor Halloween

Way Off Topic 2 Comments »

Thanks to Guitar Hero II, Rae loves Trogdor. She has several play dragons that she calls Trogdor. So, this Halloween we decided on a dragon outfit, hence she will be going as Trogdor. We might have to see to browse some animal masks to see if any would work with her costume. She’s going to be so cute.

I hope to snap some pictures of her in her costume before Halloween to get some posed shots. Also it’ll be a good test for the costume to make sure she’ll wear it. This will probably be the last year we decide what she will be for Halloween. We had wanted to go with pirate but couldn’t find a costume in her size. Trogdor is a good second choice.
