While waiting for Rock Band

Game Talk No Comments »

Being a huge fan of Guitar Hero, I’m excited about Harmonix’s Rock Band. In Rock Band, gamers can either take on vocals, lead guitar, bass, or drums. From early previews, it looks like it could be a lot of fun. While out of game I don’t sing or play guitar, I do play the piano and clarinet. I’ve always wanted to learn to play more instruments, too. I always thought buying musical instruments would be way too expensive to every take up a new one. With a little searching, you can find some good deals. You just need to know where to look.

Shopping.com has a wide selection of musical instruments. They the real counterparts of those musical instruments found in Rock Band. I would like a new keyboard and am hoping that Harmonix will one day release Piano Hero as there are some great songs that feature piano. Until then I will just have to be happy playing piano in real life.

Not only do they have musical instruments for adults, they also have some cute instruments for kids. Look at this cute pink guitar for less than $20. That would be a great gift for the budding musician.

So, not only am I excited to play Rock Bank but the whole concept of the game has renewed my interest in playing a musical instrument. With a little online shopping, I can find a nice deal on my next instrument to tackle, too.

DDR Universal Dance Mat

Fitness Revolution No Comments »

The main component of my fitness revolution is the dance with Dance Dance Revolution to burn calories, get in a great cardio workout, and hopefully lose weight. I had picked up a copy of DDR Max 2 for the PS2 for just $1. I figured since I got such a great deal on the game that I could splurge and get a universal DDR dance mat.

Our other DDR mat can only be used with the XBox. It’s on OK mat but slips on our carpet. I haven’t used the mat on flooring and I’ve only used the new mat on flooring, so I really can’t say if it is the floor that is making the big difference. But I do have to say that I really like the universal mat a lot better. It’s bigger and just seems better quality. Here is the little one busting some moves with the new DDR pad.

Maybe because I play the game better with the new pad that I think it’s a lot better. I have a feeling I will be buying another one since I doubt my husband will want to use the older mat once he has used the new DDR pad.
