Gamers who Travel

We have been known to travel with our game consoles. Sure, we almost always take the Nintendo DSs but we also on occasion take the Xbox or even the PC. When we travel with so many items, it makes me think we should get travel insurance just in case something happens on our trip.

You can never be too cautious especially when we are talking about the PS2, the wireless Guitar Hero II controller, and all the Guitar Hero games. I would hate to lose it all to an accident or burglary. We do take extra precautions when traveling with game systems like making sure to lock our doors each time we leave the vehicle. We also make sure that either the console is in the truck or it is tucked away out of sight in the car.

When we do take our game systems on the road, it does add something extra to our trip. To have that piece of home with us especially when it allows us to play games is really special, making the trip very memorable.

Hidden Object Games

You know what I like best about the hidden objects game I own? It’s that I don’t have to pack my travelpro luggage to experience some of the most beautiful places in the world.

Through Hidden Expedition: Everest, I am treated to scenic landscapes of the land and a bit of trivia. There’s also the exclusive Everest footage of Ed Viestur. It’s a great travel experience right from my PC.

In Big City Adventure: San Francisco, I make several stops to some of the city’s most famous landmarks. While not as true to life as Everest, Big City is still full of interesting facts about San Francisco. Now that I’ve finished Big City Adventures it’s time to embark on another journey from the comfort of my own home.

Spongebob Diner Dash 2

Whoever did the market research to determine if combining Spongebob Squarepants with Diner Dash must have known the game would be a success. I’m not a big Spongebob fan but playing a “celebrity” in one of my favorite casual games is really fun.

I’ve talked before how much I enjoy playing this game, so I’ll try not to repeat my initial thoughts on the game. The game does make me with to see either Spongebob or another character tackle baking cakes or planting flowers. It’s definitely a smart marketing idea to keep great casual games in the spotlight.

Abra Academy - Returning Class

Something terribly unsettling is happening at Abra Academy. Creatures have broke in and wreaked havoc on the campus. Wanda and her fellow classmates have been called in to help catch the bad guys and restore order to the campus.

Abra Academy: Returning Cast is the sequel to the very popular casual game Abra Academy. It’s a hidden object/seek and find game, so get ready to strain your eyes staring at a computer screen for hundreds of objects. Is that a flying bat or a baseball bat I’m looking for? You might just have to consult the crystal ball for help.

The demo of the first game was a lot of fun and quite cute. This one looks to deliver the same spirit as the original, so it’s a must try for those fans of hidden object games. Plus it’s about a witch academy, making it a fun game to try this Halloween.

The Plan

I have a plan to buy my husband a 360 for Christmas. I do plan to get the special Halo edition of the xbox 360, but it will take a lot of effort on my part. I think it’ll be worth it though.

To get a 360 plus the Halo game will be close to $500. That means that I need to make an extra $500 in the next month. If I keep myself on task and not get too distracted, I think I can do it. My part-time job will greatly help to make the money, too.

He’ll be very excited and although we will have a 360 before I have my Wii, I will try to not be too upset. I had thought about just giving him a Wii for Christmas but he really wants a 360. If I pull it off, it’s likely to be the best Christmas present ever. He’ll be totally surprised.

An Idea for a Casual Game

Game Talk 2 Comments »

I have an idea for a casual game, and since there are so many on the market, I wouldn’t be surprised if it already exists. How about a sim game where you take on the role of travel agent, planning the perfect vacation for couples, families, etc.

You might have to plan Orlando vacations or San Francisco vacations for people. It could work the same way as Wedding Dash where you have choices and pick the one that is best for the family. Then you play the family on vacation to see if they actually enjoy doing the activities you scheduled for them.

Ok, so my concept needs some work but it could be fun. I might have to do some research to see if it already exists. Like I said I will be surprised if the game isn’t already out in the market.
