My dream job is to own a video game store. The local one in town really needs some competition, and I think I have some great ideas that would be well received in this area. Once Rae is back in school, hopefully I will be able to pursue my dream of owning a small business. I know from my parents’ business that there are a lot of factors to consider when you are your own boss.
My gaming store would have to have an online presence and online gaming. Because of my needs for data lines, I think for phone service that I would have to go with a VOIP system. It just makes sense to have my voice phone line tied into my Internet since really the Internet will be more vital to my business.
For my business VoIP I would chose Packet8.net’s plan Fax Metered Extension. The ability to reliably send faxes is important to any business but for mine it would be top priority since I may have to fax orders to some gaming companies. I’d like to carry a lot of indy titles, so these smaller gaming houses might have a simple fax ordering system. With this package, you get 300 minutes of outgoing faxes plus unlimited incoming. Unlimited incoming will be nice since most people will fax a confirmation of order.
Packet8 has several other options for small business VoIP each with their own advantages. It really just depends on the small business needs. There is one package that has a virtual attendant that allows a company to add several auto responses. This would be good for a place that gets a lot of calls and needs to filter out why they are calling to get the caller to the right department. Many of the plans are rich in options. It’s just that with my small business, I just need a basic plan since there won’t be many - if any - employees.
If you have a need for VoIP or want to learn more, check Packet8 out as they have a lot of information on their website.
