We have these energy efficient bulbs that we use in the lighting fixtures in the living room. Not only have they outlasted traditional bulbs, but they save us money.

When we move, we are going to buy some more for our new place. I’m hoping we can make it as energy efficient as possible. I’m also going to be more conscious of lights on and the computer running when no one is using it. Even putting the computer on standby mode should help some.

I sometimes hop onto the computer for a few minutes to check email and play games. It just makes sense to keep it on. I just have to get into the habit of putting it in standby or hibernate. At least it might save a few pennies. It’s worth a try anyway.
