Buying Media

Way Off Topic No Comments »

With both a CD and DVD writer, we go through a lot of a fair amount of blank discs in time. So, anytime I can find a good deal on CDs or DVDs, I usually will pick them up. The Supermediastore.com has some grea deals on cds and dvds. I can always use dvd-r to make backup copies of data.

I’m also in the market for a larger USB drive. My geeky neighbor just got an 8 GB one. It’s geek bling to wear a USB around your neck. He proudly shows off his USB drive. For his business, it is needed. The more work I do, the more instances of needing to port data seem to arise, so my 256MB just isn’t cutting it anymore.

Also on my media wishlist is another 1 GB memory stick for my digital camera. We are going on a trip Labor Day weekend and want to make sure that memory space is not an issue.

The Super Media Store has every kind of media I have ever heard of and some I haven’t. For a geek like me, it’s so much fun to browse and look at all the media bargains from Super Media Store.

Lottso! Deluxe

Casual Games No Comments »

We don’t have the scratch and win tickets sold in our state. But thanks to the game Lottso! Deluxe you can play on your computer. Too bad it’s not for real money. It still is kind of fun. You have a group of numbers to place on your lotto cards. When all the numbers have been placed, it’s time to scratch and win.

There are 8 locations and you must meet the winning conditions to clear each place. Lottso! Deluxe will probably appeal more to the casual gamer that likes games of chance like some casino games. It can be challenging to place all the numbers before time runs out. Make sure to get those scratches done before time or else you won’t get a new card for the next round, which can make it harder to place numbers. You can either play against the computer or other players.

As always with Big Fish Games, there is an hour long demo available for download.

Game Snacking

When gaming, we always bring munchies to eat and share. Raegan always goes with us when we play Dungeons and Dragons, so I bring snacks that she likes that aren’t too bad. She loves popcorn. We have been through more bags of popcorn in the last six months than in the last six years. I’m even thinking of getting a popcorn machine since she loves it so much. Besides I think she would get a kick out of watching it pop.

Another game snack choice is the ever-popular graham cracker. She loves them and they come in a variety of shapes and flavors. For tonight I picked up a pack of Justice League Teddy Grahams in honey flavor.

I also picked up some chocolate chip muffins as she really likes those, too. Rae has definitely altered our game snacks but for the better. At least we are consciously thinking about what to bring to the game instead of buying bad junk food.
