Starcraft

Resource management and building an army games are not my forte but I have to admit that I really enjoy Starcraft. You play the military leader of your species and have to lead your forces to gather resources, train your troops and lead them to victory. All in a day’s work, right? My husband bought Starcraft and played it quite often so my interest was piqued about the game from watching him play.

I love telling my troops what to do. I can’t remember the exact phrase they say but it’s something like “Right away sir” or something equally respectful and empowering. When I play, I just like to tell them what to do to hear them say this phrase over and over. Yes, it’s a power trip but it’s oh so fun.

We may have to get the upcoming Starcraft 2 since we both enjoyed Starcraft especially since I discovered the fan site CreepyColony.com that contains a lot of Starcraft resources like maps and walk throughs. It will be fun to be totally in charge again, although my husband would argue that I’m already in charge every day.

Big City Adventure San Francisco Hint

I have spent the last two days trying to get past this one puzzle in Big City Adventure San Francisco. Each level has a place in San Francisco that you must find all of the hidden objects to move on. The next puzzle is one of four types: matching, jigsaw puzzle, find exact match, and breaking bricks puzzle. You break all the pieces of the puzzle by clicking on two or more of the same object. It’s that type of puzzle that I had been stumped on the past two days.

I would get so close by just needing to break one more time but couldn’t get a match anywhere near it. After you break so many, you get special pieces that have arrows on them. There are either two arrows or four arrows. When you click on these pieces, all tiles are broken on that row for the two arrows and all the tiles on the row and column for the four arrow special pieces.

Try to get those special pieces are far down as possible. It would be best to use one on the last two rows since the corners can be really tough to break. I finally was able to get past this puzzle by using those special arrows as close to the bottom of the puzzle as I could.

I like to play this game as a break from writing but being frustrated with this one level hasn’t helped the creativity to flow. Now that I have finally moved on, maybe I can finally get some work done.

Halloween the Movie

Way Off Topic No Comments »

Rob Zombie’s new movie is coming out at the end of this month. He will put his own unique spin on the classical horror tale of Michael in Halloween the movie. I have to admit that the first time I saw his movie House of 1000 Corpses, I wasn’t sure what to think. But it’s become one of those movies like Napoleon Dynamite that in retrospect I really like.

Rob Zombie definitely has a creative style so it will be interesting to see his interpretation of Halloween. I’m sure it’ll be disturbing while at the same time a good horror movie. I always enjoyed watching the Halloween movies. It doesn’t seem like Halloween unless there is a new Halloween movie. Halloween the movie opens in theatres August 31st.

I’m looking forward to seeing Rob Zombie’s vision of the Halloween series after watching the trailer. It seems to have the feel of the classic Halloween story but seems to have a few different twists to it. Since we are big horror buffs, this will be one movie we will probably go and see.
