Land Ho!

Way Off Topic No Comments »

Since with our little tax deduction, our tax returns are pretty sweet. Next year we are thinking of buying some land with it. We might could even take part in a live land auction if we have a good idea of where we might want to buy.

We’d like to buy land to eventually build on. With my husband’s job, it is very possible that we might move in a few years. If that happens our new home will be up for sale, so it is something to think about as far as location goes. We definitely want somewhere that is sought after since in theory it should be easy to sell should we need to.

Right now it’s all a pipe dream since it will really depend upon where we financially stand. It is fun to dream about though.

Sony PS3 Price Drop

While looking through the deals at CouponChief.com, I came across some great deals listed for Best Buy including a Sony Playstation 3 for $499.99. It is for the 60GB hard drive version of the PS3. The offer expires Saturday, August 11th, 2007. The Sony PS3 is on my Christmas list. It’s never too early to think about Christmas. Of course, there are several items at Best Buy that I would love to see under the tree this year.

It does my heart good to see a price drop for the PS3. Hopefully the Nintendo Wii will drop if only a little bit by Christmas, as that is first on my Christmas list. I think the whole family could enjoy a Wii, so it would make a great gift for us all. I will have to keep an eye out for the Wii at Target since they have a $5 off $50 coupon. I can save a little money right there. Any will help since there will be games and additional controllers to buy as stocking stuffers.

I’m a firm believer in using online coupons and finding the best deals before purchasing anything. It’s almost like a game when you are hunting for the best deal on an item. Maybe that’s why I love shopping so much is because I relate it to gaming. Either way, I will be finishing my Christmas list before the holiday seasons get here so I can take advantage of all the sales that will happening before December.

Mystery Case Files Ravenhearst

Envious that I’ve been playing some of the games on Big Fish CD, my husband asked which ones I hadn’t played. So, he installed MCF Ravenhearst. We have played it before and he especially enjoyed it.

As he was installing it, he said he really enjoyed Ravenhearst because of the story telling. So, his game begins and what does he do? Skips through all the story text, which I found funny in light of what he had just said about liking the story. It’s amazing how those nice game touches are skipped when you’re playing the game demo.

I may have to get him Ravenhearst since he has now completely finished Everest, he needs another hidden object game to obsess over.

Kids Furniture

Our new place will be limited on space, especially in Rae’s room. So, any furniture that doubles as something else will work well in the room. I really like this furniture set up from Houston furniture that would be a nice way to combine several different furniture pieces into one space.

Houston Furniture

The dresser plus a desk are all located under the bed. This would be perfect if she was just a little older since she is not quite ready for a top bunk bed, but there is no denying that this piece of furniture would definitely fill a need. A loft bed is a great choice for a small space since it combines so much into one piece. The more compact her bedroom furniture is, the more space she will have to play with her toys. A child’s bedroom is their only space to call their own, so the more space she has that isn’t taken up by necessity items, the more she can personalize it to her liking. A loft bed with a dresser and an entertainment center under it will take up way less floor space than those three furniture pieces separately.

Looking at this and other pieces at GalleryFurniture.com make me realize just how many pieces of furniture we actually could use. The kids furniture is on the top of the list because it is needed now while the rest of it can wait a little longer.
