Victoria Beckham

Way Off Topic No Comments »

Did you catch the Victoria Beckham Coming to America on NBC? I saw it Monday night. It’s been a slow summer. I had seem the name Beckham floating around and wondered what all the fuss was about. I hadn’t made the connection that it was Posh Spice of the Spice Girls until very recently. It was an entertaining hour at a glimpse into the lifestyle of the rich and famous.

Thank goodness for websites like CelebrityGossip.com that have celebrity pictures and celebrity news that make it easy to keep up with what is going on. If it hadn’t been for celebrity websites then I still might not know who Victoria Beckham is. I had seen NBC promoting the show but wasn’t sure why I should care. I use to love the Spice Girls. I even saw Spice World in the theatre. I’m glad to hear they are getting back together, another tidbit I learned through celebrity websites.

There is so much that goes on with celebrities that it can be nearly impossible to keep up with everything. CelebrityGossip.com has all the latest news on what is happening with everyone who is anyone. They are a celebrity gossip aggregate site that has news from all over the place. It’s good to have these catch-all websites to find news of interest on your favorite celebrity.

Hopefully Victoria, husband David, and three kids are settling into their new life In Los Angeles. If not, I’m sure we’ll hear about it or see it on TV.

Game Maker

Game Talk 1 Comment »

Gamer Maker is free software that you can use to create your own games. I’ve been intrigued with Game Maker for weeks and finally read through the first tutorial on how to make a simple game.

Game Maker does not require you to know any programming and you can still make games. I think an understanding of programming might help to grasp some of the concepts of the game faster. Tomorrow I will make the tutorial game and then try to make my own. First steps first, though. I must think up a game to make.

I have an idea, so now I will go through their free game resources to see if there is anything I can use. If not I will do some searching or may have to create the graphics and sound myself. It’s exciting to think in a few weeks I may have a game that is something that I created. How fun is that?

Comparison Shopping

It is seldom that I buy something without checking for the best price available. I’ve been wanting to buy some more Halo figures. I found a great deal on one and would like to find more.

I always have to check out the prices at several stores before I buy anything. You can find some good deals that way. Or what happens to me is that I find something better than my original idea. Usually this happens with games or movies more than anything else.

It’s worth the trouble especially when I save money. Besides it’s fun to shop especially if I am buying something for myself.

Turbo Pizza

The pizza business is one that is very dear to us. My husband has been everything from driver to manager. I even delivered for him when he was a manager. We are no longer in the pizza business but still enjoy the occasional pie.

Turbo Pizza puts you in control of running a pizza place. Take orders and make pies. Spend your money to buy upgrades for your store. It looks like a fun game. If you like Cake Mania, it seems to be in that style of casual game. I’m the Cake Mania Queen so this will be one I will have to check out further.

Organic Gamer

Ever since having a child, I’ve tried to become more aware of using products that are earth-friendly. I want to help preserve the earth for my daughter. One store that I’ve recently come across that has organic clothing and recycled patio furniture is Dax Stores. They have a wide selection of patio furniture, which we desperately need, and feature Caluco furniture that is of nice quality and design.

Using products that are better for the environment is something I’m definitely interested in doing. It’s good to find retailers who value selling organic products, too. Locally there is one store that sells organic foods, making the selection really narrow. Thank goodness for the Internet so I can shop any store I want to.

Dax Stores also has some wonderful kids wooden toys and other fun products. So many nice things and only so much money.

Raesmom Needs an XShot

I’m in a contest to win an XShot, which is a handheld tripod. This allows the picture taker to be in more pictures. This will be great for me to take more pictures of Raegan and me. We like to go to the park and do other stuff. I usually just take pictures of her but it would be nice to be in a few of those. I also plan to use the XShot when we go to DragonCon in September since that will help me get some great pictures.

So, if you feel so incline as to vote for me, Raesmom, head on over to Benspark.com and vote in the poll. You can vote once per day. Voting ends July 28th.

Credit Card Woes

I am too irresponsible with my credit cards. I’m still paying for my stupid younger days with my credit card. If I ever get out from under this mess, I will be more careful with my credit. Interest is always a killer, so some people move their debt to a card with 0% balance transfers. It’s an interesting idea, especially if you meet all the requirements to keep it that way.

Credit cards can be so handy at times and when used wisely can help your credit score. I plan to use my credit wisely from this point forward to get a better credit score, so one day we will be out of debt and in our own home. Finding my next credit card I can use Card Guide that lets you compare credit cards to find just the right solution. I know I want a low interest rate and really don’t care about cash back rewards since I don’t plan on using it that much.

Too Many Games - Not Enough Space

Game Talk No Comments »

Here is a problem I foresee in the near future. I will have too many games and no more hard drive space. I’ve been buying a few casual games a month through a couple of different programs. Then if you add The Sims, Neverwinter Nights, and any other PC games, I won’t have any room on my hard drive soon.

I thought 80 GB would be plenty, but now I’m not sure. Game Giveaway of the Day has an interesting game today Retro Records but I just can’t keep installing stuff. I guess I will take a few minutes today and clean up my hard drive to make sure I have plenty of room.
