Recipes

I have a friend who is always asking me for fish recipes since her and her husband are trying to eat fish once a week. The only fish I’ve really eaten on a regular basis is fried catfish. That’s probably not the healthiest way to consume fish.

I did get a free catfish recipe book from some website a few years ago. I still haven’t tried any of the recipes but every time she asked me for fish recipes I think of pulling the book out and trying one out. One recipe that sounds really good is pecan catfish. I don’t think I can go wrong with catfish and pecans, two of my favorite foods. Maybe I will pick some fish up at the market and give it a try next week.

Neverwinter Nights

I bought Neverwinter Nights for my computer so my husband and I could play at the same time. What a jinx that was since we have never played together. A friend has suggested that we all play one night together so maybe I will finally get to play.

Neverwinter Nights is one of those games I definitely want to play since it’s got the whole RPG angle. I also want to learn about making my own worlds since this might help with my future career of making games. Any kind of experience I can gain now I need to get.

Hopefully we’ll set up a NWN game night soon. I’m looking foward to playing with people I know.

A Group Effort

My husband’s new job involves a lot of team projects. One person will do this task while another does this aspect. Then they come together to talk about what they’ve done. It’s good experience for him especially since we would like to develop games to have some team building experience. I’m not sure what collaboration software they currently use, but I’m sure they have something implemented. Epazz has collaboration software that works with the back end of a company’s existing system. One group may prefer a program for tasks while another group may prefer something else. To have one program that brings it all together will really help groups stay on the same page.

My husband spends a lot of times in meetings with other team members. To have a way a software system in place that would allow them to communicate more efficiently would be ideal. Epazz’s collaboration software recognizes the importance of communication between all members of a team. The more effective meetings are, the more productivity time each employee will have.

Moms Game Night

The next game night for my Moms group will be the game Guesstures. I’ve never played the game but I hear it’s like charades. I’ll have to decide if I can make it or not. It was hard leaving Rae for an evening but I know it did us both a lot of good.

I even have a copy of the game. I could read the rules and figure it out before going. I’m not sure I’m feeling that proactive. It’ll be easier to let someone explain the rules to me.

I might check it at BoardGameGeek.com to see if it is something that I want to play. Of course, I’m always up for game night with the girls.

Toddler Entertainment

Raegan is at the age where she wants to walk everywhere. More accurately is she wants to run everywhere. At the department store, she cares not to ride in the buggy buts want to walk. Since that is not a good idea since she likes to run away, I have to put her in the buggy and give her something to entertain herself. Right now she loves balls more than anything. At the store all I could find were some golf balls but that did the trick. She played with those for a while. At least long enough for me to get some shopping done.

We have started bringing in our own toys to the store. It bothers my husband since he doesn’t want anyone to think we are shoplifting. But I’m guessing toddlers bringing their own toys into a store is common. It’s cheaper to let her play with her own toys than having to buy something every time we step into a store.

I’ll have to start keeping golf balls in my purse since that is a ball and is small enough to fit in it. It’ll keep her entertained and I can get some shopping done.

Sproink!

So, I’ve been looking for a new game to buy with my Big Fish game credit and having a hard time deciding which one to get. I wanted to get something like Peggle since we have really enjoyed playing it. A lot of the brick busting games look interesting but just aren’t doing it for me.

Sproink looked promising maybe because of the cute aliens or the gems. I like sparkly things. Either way, I tried the demo and really like it. So, now I’ve decided what to use my Big Fish game credit to purchase.

Sproink is an alien race that went deep underground to save their kind when a meteor struck their planet. Now their resources are depleted and they must return to the surface. In Sproink, you help them by clearing gems on each level. Each level completed frees more of the cute little aliens. You must catch falling gems, then shoot the gems to create three in a row. That clears the gems and gets you that much closer to completing the level. Dropped gems slowly damage your bridge. Drop too many gems and there will be a cave in.

Even if it is a puzzle “get three in a row” game, the premise is fun and there is the twist of catching falling gems. Also, to shoot gems higher you have to hold down the mouse button. It will be a good choice for this month.
