Adding a poll or quiz always make a space more interesting. It engages the reader while not asking too much from them. Quibblo.com has made adding a poll or quiz to your web space a simple process.

First register with Quibblo.com. Once you have confirmed your account, you are ready to begin making your poll. Click on the create a quiz button. Next click on create a poll. Then fill in the name of your poll as well as related tags to your poll. Add your options. Four slots are shown by default but more can be added. Once you have previewed your poll by checking for spelling errors, click submit. You will have about 20 minutes to edit your poll from that point should you wish to change anything. Share your poll by clicking on add to my site. You can either add a script or just a link to your website. There is also code to add it to your MySpace page. Here is a poll I created where I did a little customization of the color palette:

You can also answer questions from user-generated quizzes or take part in polls. Browse quizzes by either tags or do a search for something specific. With Quibblo.com it is easy to generate your own quizzes and polls. Best of all is that you can take your creations and put them directly on your web space.

Wazap Game Search Engine

Game Talk No Comments »

wazapEver searching for game hints, tips, or just general information about a game? It can be frustrating to search for such things through a traditional search engine because you have to wade through all of the non relevant results.

Wazap is a game search engine that has made it to the United States. You can search the games database or new stories to find strictly game information. The game pages are nicely laid out and include a link to game cheats, hints, and other useful information. Users can register and then rate games and comment on stories.

If you have a game website, you can add it and if it meets their requirements, it will be added to Wazap. You can also bookmark game pages and have them displayed on the MyWazap page.

Wazap is still in beta for the US version, so if you find something quirky I’m sure they would appreciate it if you would let them know.

Big News from PayPerPost

Way Off Topic No Comments »

It’s hard to believe that in just a few weeks it’ll be one year that I’ve been working with PayPerPost. PayPerPost sets up bloggers and advertisers who want to advertise on blogs. It’s allowed me to make a few dollars that have been most helpful since I don’t work outside the home.

Their big news this week is that they now secured another $7 million in investment money. It’s good to see that the PayPerPost model is one that people see long-term potential with it. To mark the momentous occasion, PayPerPost has launched a new website design that now puts a lot more information for both bloggers and advertisers just a click away. Check out PPP Labs to see what the development team is up to as well as some smart posties who have created some cool plugins.

$7 million is a lot of money. Surely PayPerPost needs some suggestions as to what to do with it? I can offer a few. Since bloggers are pretty loyal to PPP, why not have special bonuses for those who have been around a while? For example, when someone has been with PPP a year, send them a bonus check that doubles their earnings for the day that marks their one year anniversary. Better yet how about an online gift certificate so they can pick out something nice for themselves.

The PayPerPost Revolution Accelerates, Sponsored
Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B

Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors

ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company’s Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.

“PayPerPost created this exciting new advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”

Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.

“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s business model holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”

To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.

Gamervision Social Network for Gamers

Game Talk 1 Comment »

Gamervision logoGamervision is a social network for gamers. Find groups that interest you or start your own. You can also read and comment on news stories.

I signed up yesterday for it after conducting a search for gaming social networks since I was curious if such a thing existed. There are a couple out there, so I thought I would try out Gamervision first. Sign up was easy and navigation was pretty straightforward. When you browse the groups/gamers, first you go through several pages of groups, then you come to even more pages of gamers. I joined a few groups like Guitar Hero and and My Sims have a better life that I do(love that title!).

While the site may not have the number of users as some social networks like MySpace, you will find folks who are interested in games. I chose Gamervision because it seemed to be a diverse community of gamers who enjoy a variety of games in a casual setting.

You can set up your profile, add friends, and other features you have come to expect from social networks. I logged in today and had three friends request. Now that big fat zero is gone from the profile, I feel better. I never thought I’d miss having an automatic friend like Tom around.
