Bid4Prizes Nintendo Wii

Bid4Prizes.com is an auction site that gives away a nice prize each day to the person with the lowest unique bid. It is different from standard actions in a couple of ways: the lowest bid wins the auction and the bidder doesn’t have to pay a thing. So, if you bid $2.54 on an item and win, then you don’t have to pay the $2.54 or shipping costs.

Up for auction right now is a Nintendo Wii. I have been wanting a Nintendo Wii for months, and here is my chance to win one. I have put in my bid for the Wii. Bid4Prizes will text me if I have the lowest bid. If I don’t, then they give me a clue as to what the current unique lowest bid is so I can bid again either by texting or their website. It will be totally amazing to win a Wii. I love this next gen console because of the fun freestyle game play.

Hopefully my bid of my daughter’s birthday will be the lucky one to win the Wii.

Dreamblade

Tonight is the Dreamblade tournament. I had really hoped to tweak my Valor warband but doubt I have time. My warband is weak in muscle and low spawn point creatures.

I’d like to do a whole new warband. Last week the third place winner gave me the promo mini, which was cool and nice of him. Hopefully tonight I can earn one.

IDrive - Online Backup Made Easy

My first Sim family was based on my husband and me. I loved that family and played them almost exclusively for at least a year. One day the computer crashed, and my beloved Sim family was gone in an instant. Heartbroken I couldn’t stand to play The Sims for at least a month. If only I had a backup of my game files then I could still be playing my wonderful Sims family.

We all have heard how important it is to backup our important files. I have learned this lesson the hard way with my Sims game and other instances. Computer data can be corrupted and files damaged beyond repair without any warning. A backup strategy can make sure you don’t lose important information.

IDrive is an online backup website that offers an easy and affordable way to backup your important files. IDrive has a free version that users can store up to 2GB worth of data. IDirve Pro packages begin at $4.95/month. Sign-up takes less than two minutes. Once you sign up, you have to download the IDrive software (6MB file) and install it on your computer.

Getting started is easy. The IDrive demo will show you everything you need to know about how to use their Windows Explorer interface. You can easily send files to your IDrive by browsing to the file and checking the box next to it.

Casual Games for Younger Kids

Game Talk No Comments »

Finding PC casual games for kids can be challenging enough but finding games geared for kids as young as three can even be a bigger challenge. Luckily there are some franchise games for the PC that are for young kids that feature some of their favorite characters. Here are a few games that are perfect for the preschool crowd.

Spot’s Busy Day –interactive storybook featuring four books from this popular series.

Caillou Magic Playhouse
–a set of mini-games where kids learn numbers, colors, and counting.
Caillou Preschool–more fun with Caillou. Learn the alphabet, color either on screen or print pages, and so much more.
These are just a few that I found that would be good for toddlers to play. Share what your toddler likes to play by commenting here.

Attending Expos and Cons

I recently attending a local kids expo that was great exposure to businesses that cater to children. There was also plenty of information on upcoming summer camps and other activities for kids. It was a lot of fun even if the little one can’t take part in camps. It was still a good information gathering day.

I also like to attend conventions for the same reason. While they are great to collect marketing pens and other cool stuff, cons give a one-stop spot to find useful information from companies.

Our next con we will be attending will be Dragon Con in Atlanta. I’m really excited about this one. I’m hoping to get some hands on experience with some new board, card, and RPG games. It seems that in our area the same games are popular with everyone and is what most people play. It’s always nice to learn new games, especially when the person you are learning the game really has a passion for it.

That’s the best thing about cons for me is the exposure to games and players that are not in my gaming group.
