Our gaming room receives a lot of sunlight during the day. While on gorgeous days like today it is nice to have the sun beaming through the windows, it can be quite difficult to play a game with the window glare on the TV.

One solution is the replace our current blinds with room darkening ones. This will block a lot of the natural light and decrease the glare on the television. Most of the times I play video games at night but every once in a while I can sneak in a few minutes of Guitar Hero during the day. It would be nice to be able to play without the glare as it might help my playing ability.

Room darkening blinds are very affordable and do work quite well. We have some in the nursery that do a good job to minimize sunlight. An added bonus will be that the blinds should help to keep the room cooler in the day. That’s always a positive especially with summer fast approaching.

Tonight is another Dreamblade tournament at the favorite local gaming store. We are going to make this one I think as I’m feeling much better and so is the little one. Sometimes it’s difficult to get to do everything you want when you are parents.

If I am remembering correctly we should be able to play with minis from the latest set, Anvilborn. There is one Valor figure that is definitely going into my warband. It’s Archangel Tommy who is pretty beey for valor. He had reinforce valor, which means he can spawn in any cell with a valor ally. He also had the blade ability Mass Wound 4 that deals four damage to local enemy. He has a spawn cost of 11 and two valor and is an 8/8. He has a four power attack so he’s fairly tough and rough. That’s exactly what I need for my valor warband.

If we can’t use Anvilborn, then I’m not sure if I will tweak my warband or just go with what I’ve been playing with. I guess I will have to go through what figures we have and see if there is anything that is beefy since that is what I really lack at this time.

It’s a bittersweet May. It’s season finale time and so that means some good TV. It’s sad because we’ll have to wait months for any new episodes.

Tonight is finale night for NBC shows Scrubs and The Office. I haven’t been watching either of these shows this season, so I will probably miss the finales. I like both shows but they are up against other shows I like better. This summer I can catch up on both of them and have something at least new-episodes-to-me to watch.

Season finales are good but most end on a cliff hanger that isn’t resolved until the start of the next season. So, really as good as the finales are, the first episodes of the new season are even better.
