Drive just Gets Better

Way Off Topic No Comments »

We missed Drive this past Monday but watched it on Drive’s My Space page. It was a great episode. I’m really getting hooked on Drive on Fox starring Nathan Fillion. The cast is great, the premise is intriquing, and the action is paced nicely. Plenty of fast cars and witty dialogue to go around.

Hopefully Fox will give Drive a chance and not pull it before its audience is found. There is plenty buzz about Drive on the Internet. Let’s just hope that turns into good ratings. Those Nielson Families need to tune into Drive on Fox Monday nights.

My Old Job

I use to work for a mental health provider that also had a drug rehab center. I worked in IT and the center did everything a little different than all of the other facilities.

Part of my job was to check paperwork. Well, their paperwork was totally different than how everyone else did theirs. This was always confusing and was always a pain to sort out discrepancies. It really showed the need for standardization throughout the agency.

When I left they were working on a custom software program that would make the center a paperless one. I’m sure there are many who hated having to learn to do everything on the computer. A paperless office, while has its pros and cons, at least helped to make all of the paperwork the same.

The Best Pens

My favorite pens are some pharmaceutical advertising pens. Not only are they well made, but they write flawlessly. In fact these few pens have stood the test of time and work just as well as they did six months ago.

I usually have a great pen that writes well for a while. Then I don’t use it for a few months, and it never writes the same. The whole idea behind advertising pens is that people will think of your product when they use it. So, it’s worth a little extra money to get quality pens that they will want to use all the time. There’s no telling how many people will potentially see that one pen.

For me, a good pen is always worth the money.

Popcorn

Popcorn makes a great gaming snack. It’s one of those foods you can just munch on all night and still not eat too many calories. I like to get the kettle corn popcorn myself. It just tastes better. That sweet taste is divine.

The best thing about plain popcorn is that you can add your own flavorings. Sprinkle a little sugar over popcorn for a sweet taste or lather it with butter. Karamel melted over popcorn is really yummy. Even cheddar on popcorn is good.

We always have popcorn on hand. You can flavor it to hit the spot to whatever taste you are craving. If you are just looking to snack and are watching the calories, eat it plain. It is still good. A big soda to wash it down with and you’ve got a wonderful game snack experience.

North Carolina

I’ve never been to the Outer Banks of North Carolina but keep hearing that is a great place to visit. You don’t have to sell me on how nice it is to vacation in North Carolina. We’ve been to the side of North Carolina with the mountains. It would be cool to visit the side with the water.

North Carolina is like a technology hub. There is a lot going on and many big businesses there that would be nice to work for. Since I’m out of the workforce for a few years anyway, there is no need to daydream about my next employer, if and when I do get another job.

I can keep daydreaming about an Outer Banks vacation.

Hubby wants his Peggle

Game Talk No Comments »

So, this past month I’ve signed up with GamePass and Big Fish Games Club. Each program gives you basically one free game a month for your membership fee.

My husband is antsy for me to get more games as he is not into the two games that I got this month. This coming from the guy who is playing Solitaire. He shouldn’t be that choosy you would think.

He wants Peggle Deluxe, so I will get that through one of the two programs. Not sure what else I’ll get. I’m thinking Grimm’s Hatchery.

My goal is to finish the two games I already have and write walk throughs to both of them. Hopefully that will happen while there is still interest in the games and before they become part of a Greatest Hits collection.

The Sims 2 WooHoo

Game Talk No Comments »

My Sims have never needed anything like Levitra. It’s like they are always willing to WooHoo, which isn’t a bad thing. I guess.

In The Sims it was limited to where WooHoo took place. In the Sims 2 it can happen a lot of other places. The big drawback to WooHoo is kids in the game ofcourse. My first Sims family had five kids. That was in the original Sims where the kids didn’t grow up. I finally used a Sims hack to grow up a couple of kids so they could move out of my house. I never like my Sims to use too much free will, so keeping up with five kids, two adults, and the family dog was way too much.

I still hate my computer crashed, and I lost that Sims family. Although tiring to play, they were a lot of fun. Never a dull moment that’s for sure.

A Wii Mother’s Day

So, I’ve really been wanting a Wii for a while. My husband is getting me for Mother’s Day wireless headphones. And you thought I was going to say a Wii, didn’t ya? Well, no such luck. It’ll be up to me to get it. I think it’s what Rae would want me to have, so it’s from her anyway. I’m just going to help her buy it.

I may not have it by Mother’s Day but at least hopefully by the end of May.

Tick Tock

My parents have a beautiful grandfather clock. We had stayed a few weeks with them after Rae was born. Each night we seem to wind up in the living room since Rae was up every two hours. It just seemed easier to stay in there with her away from the bedrooms and disturbing everyone in the house.

The grandfather clock chimes every 15 minutes. It was very frustrating because I would get Rae to sleep and just begin to doze off when the clock with chime. After two weeks I finally was able to just tune it out and sleep.

It’s still a nice grandfather clock, just don’t try to sleep in the same room with it.

Dreamblade Tonight

Tonight is another Dreamblade tournament. The hubby is watching the little girl so I can play in peace. I need to retool my warband. I’m thinking of branching out of my normal warband to try something different. I love playing Valor but with the high spawn cost I just don’t have in play what I need to really make the warband totally affective.

Anvilborn expansion creatures cannot be used in tournament play until May. So, all those cool new figures will just have to wait to see action. If I could use some of those, I would play Valor since there is some great additions to Valor. Hopefully I can put together something that will help me win at least a few games.
