Older Homes

Our house is an older home. It’s not old enough to be qualify for a historic house marker, but it still has some age on it. Our biggest problem is storage as there are very few closets in the house. Another problem is outlets. There are so few that it limits where you can place electronic items.

We have a crazy setup right now. To make more room, we have our bedroom where the dining room should be and turned our former bedroom into a game/toy room. We definitely spend more time gaming than we do sleeping, so it only made sense to make the gaming room as nice as possible.

Sci-Edge update

I have a friend on Sci-Edge. Looks like my husband finally signed up. I plan to send more invites to friends, but with everything else in my life it’ll get done when I get around to it.

Sci-Edge is a social networking website for people with an interest in science, sci-fi, or anything technical in nature. They are pretty new but growing. I need to work on my page as the pic I uploaded was way too small. I look very pixelated.

And don’t forget to check out their free online games. There are plenty of them and a lot of fun.

Mountain Air

Pleasant days like today make me glad I live in the Deep South. I’m sure in about a month I’ll be wishing that I lived in a cooler climate. We use to go to the mountains each year for vacation. I could deflinitely live in Tennessee or North Carolina.

We have friends who lived near Raleigh and love it. In fact they had even invested in some Raleigh North Carolina Real Estate and bought a house. Too bad that their job took them away from the area. They were really happy there.

North Carolina is a beautiful state. I hope that we get to go back soon.

Your first D & D Character

Playing Dungeons and Dragons for the first time can be a little overwhelming. While role playing games are fun and have a free flow game play to them, there is a lot of prep work that needs to be put into getting ready to play. The most important and time consuming aspect of playing D & D is character development. Developing your first D & D character is both exciting and at the same time a little intimidating.

The best advice I can offer is to keep your first character simple. There are plenty of great D & D supplement books that add feats, skills, and spells as well as new character classes. For your first, stick with a basic character. The more complicated the character, the harder it will be for a new player to manage.

So, sit down with the Player’s Handbook and figure out your race and class. Then choose your skills from the handbook. It will be much easier to grasp the basics using only one book than trying to throw in a feat from the Complete Divine or a skill from the Complete Warrior.

Always run by your character idea by the DM(dungeon master) since he has final say on everything. Oh, and have fun adventuring.

First Aid Kits

Here is a little money saving advice that I learned when we went shopping for First Aid Kits. We were getting ready to go on a trip and wanted to take along a first aid kit since they are incredibly handy to have especially in a vehicle. Since it was for the automobile, we checked the auto section first and found a couple of different first aid kits ranging in price from $10 - $20.

Not totally satisfied with any that we saw in automotives, we traveled over to the pharmacy section of the store to look there for first aid kits. We found a great little kit with all sizes of band-aids, aspirin, ibuprofen, and other first aid kit supplies for $5. Needless to say, we went with the $5 kit instead of a higher-priced kit in automotive.

So, when you are shopping for something, and the item could be in two locations in a store, check both places out before buying the product. You might can save some money, too.
