When you move to a new city in Onceuponia, your first couple of days may be brutal when it comes to sales. So, spend as much as you can on market research. Afterall, you will be the potion making operation in town taking on a big established business. A new village means all your former upgrades are gone. Starting over can be a daunting task and very frustrating if you can’t make any more the first few days in a new place.

Watch the forecast, do your market research, and price your potions accordingly. It should help those first few days turn a profit.

Are the villagers in a bit of a hurry in your game? Chances are the game settings are set to Fast. I had bought the Oh, hush spell but could never click on a villager fast enough to get them to stop talking bad about my shop.

Then I noticed three buttons in the top righthand corner. There is normal speed, fast speed, and very fast speed. I clicked on normal speed and noticed a slowing down of the busy villagers. It was enough that I could actually click on them and use the Oh, hush spell. Fast may be the default speed since I don’t remember ever changing the speed before.

My old insurance was canceled after my payment wasn’t received by the cut-off date. They canceled my insurance and then cashed my payment two weeks later. It’s so frustrating. So, I called to see what that meant. They put in a request to reinstate my insurance but since that payment didn’t bring the account up to date since another payment deadline had come and gone (why pay an account that’s closed?) they denied the request to reinstate insurance. It’s been a huge hassle just for auto insurance.

The next insurance we need to buy is death insurance. I wouldn’t worry with it, but now that we have a daughter I want to make sure if something happens to us she is taking care of. The good news is life insurance usually has a small premium.

Then we’ll need renters insurance. Hopefully that will be all the insurance we’ll need for a while.

The new Fox TV series Drive reminds me of the Amazing Race meets Cannonball Run. It’s a secret, illegal, cross-country race where contestants have to figure out clues to their next destination. Elimination is a killer. The penalty for last place is much stiffer than the marked for elimination in The Amazing Race.

Drive stars Nathan Fillion from Firefly fame. It seems he may be the only contestant forced to take part in the race. The other contestants don’t have at stake what his character, Alex Tully, does.

It’s a great show. Hopefully Fox won’t pull it anytime soon.
