The Apprentice

Way Off Topic No Comments »

I haven’t watched much of the Apprentice LA. I’m just not into it as much as past seasons. I also think the time slot of Sundays is a tough one to remember. The first couple of seasons I really enjoyed Donald Trump’s advice. Now it seems that what he says is almost predictable. Maybe it’s because since he’s been on TV for a while now that I know what he’ll say.

I do enjoy the Apprentice finale because I always enjoy seeing the posh jobs the candidate has to choose from. I’m sure the Donald has some nice Las Vegas real estate since he has the casino in Atlantic City. That would be the development I would want to oversee.

Ofcourse, I have a feeling I would be fired on the first trip to the boardroom. You’ve got to have a certain personality to make it on a reality show. Sadly, I’m too meek and mild for reality TV.

I will just have to watch Sunday’s episode on at NBC and catch up with the show.

Guitar Hero Tip

Game Talk No Comments »

All of our friends are really into Guitar Hero. It’s what we do when we get together. We either talk about it or rock out. I play mostly on medium, but a friend gave me a bit of advice that I think will help me increase my skill level.

While playing on medium, go ahead and shift your hand down to the lower fret buttons. While you won’t use the 5th fret button on medium, this will help you get use to stretching those fingers out at a slower paced level and playing less notes. Hopefully this will help me get use to using all of the fret buttons and to get a better feel for them.

I tried doing it tonight, but it was still hard to get use to. I’ll continue to practice at home. Hopefully I can get better on hard if I can get more comfortable with reaching all five fret buttons.

Growing Older

Way Off Topic No Comments »

I refuse to grow old gracefully. I can see collagen injections and wrinkle creams a part of my life in the near future. I’m not ashamed to admit that I will do a lot of things to keep a youthful appearance.

I’m curious about hydrator moisturizer with peptide molecules that reduces the signs of aging. Right now I have a very light beauty regime, so I’m not sure if a $90 hydrator would fit into it or not. If it would help with the lingering mask of pregnancy I have then I would order it today.

I’m just glad to be getting older. I’m just not happy looking like I am.

Voyage Century Online

Games, Online Games No Comments »

Voyage Century is a free online multiplayer game that takes you on adventures on the high seas. It’s a huge client download of 1 GB but really is worth it.

A friend of mine was playing the game tonight. I will be signing up tomorrow to play. You can build your boat, set sail, attack other ships or search uncharted territory. Those are just a few of the things I saw tonight that you can do in the game. Apparently you can even take up the life of a pirate but watch out as this paints virtual target on your head.

You can buy points that you can use in the game, but it isn’t necessary to buy anything to play the game. There’s a lot to do in Voyage Century. Hopefully I will have time to explore it tomorrow.

Social Networking for Sci lovers

Way Off Topic No Comments »

Now here is a social networking community I can definitely relate to. It’s Sci-Edge, and you can think of it as My Space for geeks. Sci-Edge is brand new but has a lot to offer.

You can share your photos, play games, make a wish list, and even blog. Sci-Edge even has an online calendar, so you can keep track of those appointments you just can’t miss like the Stargate SG-1 marathon this Friday the 13th.

I’m working on my profile and finding some easy to use themes. It is easy to change your theme and then to edit it to your liking. You can also go to invisible mode in case you want to be online but don’t want to be bothered. Sometimes I just like to lurk and really don’t have time to talk.

My favorite section of Sci-Edge is the games. I bet you probably would never had guessed that, huh? I could play Castle Defender for hours. It’s cute. Shoot the enemies and defend the castle. Watch out for the monks. When you shoot them, they say “Stop it.” It’s kind of comical.

Here is a look at my profile at Sci-Edge. Signup is easy and painless. Best of all, it’s free. Stop by and say Hi once you’ve signed up.

Dreamblade Tonight

Way Off Topic No Comments »

Thursday is another Dreamblade tournament, so tonight I hope to try out a new strategy with my warband. I love playing Valor, but everything is so expensive. It makes me nervous when my opponent has more miniatures than me in the Dreamscape.

So I’ve a few lesser spawn cost figures and some minis with the Energize spawn ability. The figures I have will add 1 spawn point during my spawn phase. I need to get more of minis with that ability that is for sure.

Maybe I do better in Thursday’s tournament. It would be nice since I seem to be putting a lot of effort into this. But Dreamblade is a fun game, so I’m having a good time. I guess that’s all that really matters. And winning, winning really matters.

Credit Card Security

Way Off Topic No Comments »

I got an email notification that my online credit card statment was ready. After clicking on the link, I was asked to create my security key. I had to choose a picture and provide a caption for the picture, then pick three questions and answer those. This is apparently done to create a more secure way of logging onto the credit card website. I’m all for more security. Hopefully the new protocol won’t be too cumbersome when using the system. I like using my credit card because I usually don’t carry cash. Cash just gets spent way too easily. With using the card at least I hestiate and ask myself if it is really something I need.

I really need to find a credit card with 0% balance transfers and get my credit card paid off. Credit card comparisons can narrow down the field when choosing a company.

Although I like the look of the Sims credit card, I’m not sure what type of credit card rewards will be offered. I can’t pick a credit card just by how it looks but need to focus on what it can offer me.

Teletubbies on Tape

Ah, there is still a lot of use for that antique VCR. I recorded an hour of Teletubbies, and that’s the wisest thing I’ve done all month.

I can pop the tape in, press play, and practically do anything I want without interruption. I use to make fun of the teletubbies but not anymore. The little one absolutely loves them and is learning a few words from watching. She has also learned to dance Teletubbie style. It’s too funny.

Thank you Teletubbies. The show is a true blessing.

Staying Away from Home

When we go on vacation, I always look forward to staying in a hotel. I love the sparse room that is not my responsibility to clean. With wireless Internet and even gaming available in rooms, staying at a hotel is even more appealing. But I have always wanted to stay at a Bed and Breakfast because I think it would be a touch of home and a nice way to really get into the local culture. Still, I love my hotel stay and not sure if I can depart from it even one night during our next vacation.

Sims Credit Card

Right now you can vote for your favorite Sims credit card. The credit card will be offered to The Sims community with special offers.

It would be interesting if you earned rewards that you could spend on game upgrades. How about earning Simoleans back instead of cash back? Now a Sims 2 expansion only available to card holders might be enticing. I’m not sure if there is anything else that would be.
