Role Playing Games on Jeopardy!

Way Off Topic No Comments »

RPGs have officially made it. Jeopardy! had a category called “Role Playing Games” that dealt with online RPGs. I was half-listening and was about to turn it off and turn on Guitar Hero when I caught the word “games” in a category.

It’s so cool to see a category on Jeopardy! that I knew all the answer to. That never happens.

Early Birthday Present

My husband gave me my birthday present early. It’s a wireless guitar controller for Guitar Hero. Wireless controllers make gaming so much easier, especially with a little one under your feet.

With the wired controller, I’m always hyper-aware of the baby. I play better standing up, so now being wireless it great. Plus, this gives the baby a guitar controller she can use. Ofcourse, she still favors whichever one I’m currently using. Figures.

The fret buttons are a little stiff. Our first guitar controller was used when we bought it and broke in. It’s difficult to adjust to the stiffness of the fret buttons. I’m staying away from hard mode until I have gotten use to it.

The wireless controller is a perfect birthday present. Now when one of us is playing Guitar Hero, the other person can join in.

Gift Card

While checking out at a local store, I noticed the women in front of me buying a credit card. She was able to place money on it. I had never seen this before but think it’s a great idea. A prepaid gift card that you can use as a credit card gives a lot of flexibility for the receiver. When I went to college, we had Moneymate, which was a prepaid card you could use on campus. Imagine having the same type of deal that you could spend practically anywhere.

So, the next time you are stuck with what to get someone for a gift, you could give them a gift card that they can spend pretty much anywhere. I like the idea of having a prepaid card that I could use to make purchases online. I could charge a card with my gaming money, insuring I don’t go over budget.

MINT offers gift cards as well as standard credit cards. A MINT credit card has a different shape and plenty of inticing incentives. The MINT gift card would make a perfect gift for those nearly impossible people to shop for. I can even personalize the gift card with my own message. Gift cards are a great way to make sure the receiver gets exactly what they want, and I don’t have to go through the hassle of shopping.
