Our Next Getaway

We are planning on vacationing this year. We really haven’t been anywyere since our honeymoon many years ago. It would be nice to somewhere we have never been before.

I have never been outside of the country, but my husband went to Mexico on a band trip in high school. It’d be nice to experience another culture. There are many gorgeous places to travel to in Mexico. Vacations.net lists some wonderful Puerto Vallarta all inclusive resorts. Just looking at the images at Vacations.net makes me want to pack my bags tonight. If we do decide to head out of the country and to a beach location, I’m sure we can find the right resort for us.

We will definitely utilize the Internet when planning our trip. It’s fun to plan our vacation now. It makes work more bearable to know you are working towards a lot of fun in the sun.

A Geeky Valentine’s Day Gift

Forget about candy and flowers, give her something she’ll use. How about shopping for personalized flash drives instead.

You can give her a flash drive in her favorite color with a personal message from you. This way everytime she uses it, she’ll think of you. I love my flash drive as it is compact and an easy way to port files from one computer to another. My husband uses his flash drive to store music on to listen to it at work. With free laser engraving, a personalized flash drive will be a lot cheaper than roses.

DS and the IRS

The W-2’s came in yesterday, so today I started doing our taxes. I have them nearly completed and am really happy to report that we will get a nice refund. We usually owe, but our little tax deduction has saved it once again. We are going to plan how to spend the money before we get it as to make certain we save some of it.

I’m thinking of getting the little one her own Nintendo DS. I figure this may be the only way I will ever be able to play mine around her. I’m still going to try buying the $20 handheld game system at Best Buy that features 8 games to see how well that pacifies her. The problem is she knows what the DS looks like and does. I’m not sure if her handheld game looks different that she will like it as much.

I guess we’ll find out and go from there.

Fundraising

Even though the little one is a few years away from attending school, I’m gearing up now for all the school fundraising drives that we will be going through. I’ve already started a list of people that I’ve bought fundraising products from to revisit once we are in the fundraising years.

I will probably also have to help come up with school fundraising ideas, so I’ve started another list of some of the better fundraisers out there. Fundraising.com makes it easy to find information on different fundraising programs. That’s definitely the type of information I will need.

The Apprentice

I’ve watched a couple of the new epsidodes of The Apprentice LA. I just can’t get into the show without Carolyn. I really miss her and have realized that I like her a lot more than the Donald.

So, I’ve been playing The Apprentice PC game that does have Carolyn in it. The game itself is made up of mini-games, and you face off with the computer. The losing team goes to the boardroom for another game. The winner doesn’t lose a member of their 5 member team.

I’ve noticed The Apprentice game is on sale. The graphics aren’t stellar, but the game is OK fun.
