Gaming while Traveling

Way Off Topic No Comments »

We have some fond memories of traveling to Florida. Our first trip to Florida together was right after we bought the Xbox, so we brought it with us. In fact, we bought the Xbox on the way out of town heading to Florida. It was a blast to play while at the hotel. We didn’t take our Xbox on our next trip to Florida but still got to get in some gaming. I brought along my PSP and thanks to WIFI was able to use it to surf the net.

We also enjoy traveling to Florida since it is not that far and with a little research you can find some great Florida vacation rentals. Our last Florida excursion was to Tampa, and it looks like our next trip might be to Destin. Destin won’t be such a long trip for us. The little one should be really fun this summer to take to the beach, and Destin is known for their great beaches. We look forward to adding more great memories of Florida this year.

Guitar Hero I Songs

Game Talk No Comments »

I love the songs in Guitar Hero. I own some of the songs and have started listening to them recently since we bought the game. I’ve been a little disappointed as I have really grown fond of the rendition of the songs in Guitar Hero.

On the official Guitar Hero website you can find a page that samples all the songs from the game. It’s really interesting, especially the song Spanish Castle Magic. In Guitar Hero the voice track is not heard, but the website version does have the singing part.

Maybe there will be a Guitar Hero soundtrack that actually features the in game versions of the song.

Soap Dish

I have been a Days of our Lives fan all my life. I don’t get to watch it nearly as often as I’d like to. Sometimes the storylines are so far-fetched–even for the soaps– that I lose interest. Usually some long lost character or new plot comes along, and my interest is renewed.

Like a lot of soap opera fans, I love keeping up with all of the latest soap opera news. Soaps.com has a lot of DOOL news from recaps to spoilers to comings and goings of actors. Soaps.com may just make it to my must visit sites on a daily basis. Ofcourse, they have plenty of dish on the other soap operas. They also have the latest news on one of my favorite shows Ugly Betty. I’m so glad Ugly Betty is so popular. Nothing is worse than getting hooked on a show and then it is cancelled during the season.

For news and recaps on DOOL, I now have a new source. Now if DOOL would only get back to the quality of show it was years ago.

Big Fish Games Toolbar

Casual Games No Comments »

My browser already has plenty of toolbars, but I couldn’t pass up downloading the Big Fish Games toolbar that gives you access to casual games before they are released to the Internet at large. You get a list of the 10 most popular games as well as over 70 web browser games.

I’m always on the lookout for cool, new games. Now, that job is a little easier. I may have a little less space to display webpages, but this toolbar should prove to be worthy of the pixels.

Saints Season Comes to an End

Way Off Topic No Comments »

I’ve been a New Orleans Saints fan all my life. I have watched so many heartbreaking seasons throughout the years that it was finally nice to have such a great season.

I was disappointed in their performance Sunday and disappointed with the officiating as it seemed the Bears could do no wrong. I have when questionable calls or calls that are spot on but against my team are made. I hope the Bears do well in the Super Bowl; I’m just really bummed the Saints won’t be there.

I remember the Saints first winning season. What a glorious year that was. Their first playoff bid came the year of the strike. My hope is that this year is the beginning of greatness for my team and that my daughter will never hear the phrase “the Aints.” It’ll seem foreign to her that the Saints were a struggling team who seldom made it to the playoffs.

Thanks to Sean Payton and all the New Orleans Saints for a great year of football!
