Girl Gamer in Training

The little one is definitely going to be a button masher. She loves to play with the game controllers as well as the Nintendo DS. She loves to mash the buttons on the DS(especially when I’m trying to play.) She usually winds up with the DS all to herself. She has mastered that the start button calls up the quit menu. It won’t be long before she is warping through worlds and saving the Princess by herself.

Since I would like to play my DS, I’m thinking that she needs her own handheld game. I have found one at Best Buy that looks like the old style Gameboy (before the SP). I think she may like it since it has buttons similar to the DS. Since it has a color screen, it will be pretty to look at, too. The VG Pocket also comes in pink, so it’ll favor my pink DS.

Hopefully it’ll work. If not, I guess it’ll be time to start saving for her DS.

The Game of Poker

Card Games No Comments »

Poker is my favorite card game. I’m always up for a game of poker. Lately my favorite variant of poker has been Texas Hold Em. It’s really popular right now with many TV shows featuring professional as well as celebrity players playing this high stakes game.

One poker site that is a fine resource of news, articles, photos, and everything else related to poker is Poker Junkie. What I like about Poker Junkie is its clean design and easy navigation. It is very easy to find usual information at Poker Junkie. Their archive of of World Series of Poker articles are insightful and give a history of the WSOP that might take much longer to piece together with just doing online research.

For those who love the game of poker or just want to learn more about the card game, Poker Junkie offers something of value.

Queens Knight Quest

Way Off Topic No Comments »

For Christmas, I received the missing volumes of the Queen’s Knight. Now I am all caught up and eagerly awaiting for volume 8 to be released in February.

While researching Queen’s Knight, I was happy to learn that new volumes are coming out every six months instead of nine months like I had previously read. I love this series and am a little sad that I will now have to wait to find out what happens next.
