Mahjong Quest

Casual Games No Comments »

Mahjong is a great game to play to pass some time and when solitaire just isn’t appealing. There are several versions of this ancient game out there. MahJong Quest has a story line so that you aren’t just solving puzzles but are actually advancing the plot of the game.

In MahJong Quest, you help Kwazi use his ancient set of MahJong tiles to help restore order to the land after dragons have wreaked havoc. You can either play classic Mahjong layouts or try new, modern ones. MahJong Quest is available for the PC and Mac.

The Three Musketeers

One of my favorite literary works is now a casual game. The The Three Musketeers is a side-scrolling adventure where you play Porthos and must rescue your fellow musketeers. You will have to trench through huge castles, dark dungeons, even a haunted abbey to find your friends who have been taken to a mysterious location.

With over 200 areas to explore and 3 endings, this casual game should pack a lot of fun and entertainment.

PlayStation Underground

When I first got my PlayStation, I signed up for PlayStation Underground. That was years ago, and I’m still on the mailing list. How I am so excited to see a playable game demo in the mail. For a while I was getting a lot of PS2 games, which would be great if I had a PS2. (One day it will be mine!)

This past week I received a PSP demo game in the mail from PlayStation Underground. I haven’t played it yet, but it’s a demo of Killzone. This is really not the genre of games I play but will give it a try. Killzone was a game I think got pretty good reviews. I remember when it first came out there was a lot of talk about it.

I can’t wait to see what comes next from the PlayStation Underground.

Halloween Screens

Way Off Topic No Comments »

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. This year it’s really exciting because our daughter will be able to enjoy it. Last Halloween she was only three weeks old. I already have her a costume picked out. She will be El Seed from the The Tick. What else would you expect from geeky parents but to use a slightly obscure comic book character as a a Halloween costume idea?

This year we will carve a pumpkin and decorate the lawn. Being the geek that I am, why should I leave my computer out of all the fun? I do enjoy looking for Halloween screen savers and wallpaper. It’s amazing just what is available these days on the Internet. Fun stuff indeed.
