Casual Games Spotlight: Poker Superstars II

Poker Superstars II is a fun way to play poker against the pros and not lose anything but track of time. The first game I played, I lost early on. The second game I did much better. Ofcourse, I did have the game set on amateur. I figure that is my handicap since I don’t play poker professionally.

Poker Superstars II is entertaining and can help you practice your poker game. If you are new to poker, then it gives a nice, safe way to learn the ropes without the embarrassment of doing some dumb in front of your friends or online.

VoIP

My niece recently switched her home phone service to VoIP, or voice over IP. Basically, she receives phone calls through the same service that she accesses the Internet. She is saving a lot of money without having a traditional phone bill. Long distance charges are a thing of the past with VoIP. You pay one rate for your Internet and talk all you want. Phone service can be such a hassle and can add up quickly. We had a very basic plan that still ran us around $30 a month.
VoIP has come a long way in recent years and is now a good choice for those seeking to cut their phone bill. My last employer switched to VoIP because of how reliable the service had become and because it saved the company a lot of money. If you want to learn more, there is plenty of information about VoIP here.

I’m not a girly-girl, but since the birth of my daughter, our house has been full of the everything pink. That’s why when I saw this news that Sony is releasing a PINK PSP value pack in Europe, it caught my attention. How cute is that?

Music star Pink will help promote this PSP. I love to see products like this. They are so geared toward girls. I may have to get one, you know, for my little girl. Ok, so it may be a few years until she enjoys it. It’s too cute to pass up though. Oh wait, that’s right. It’s only available in Europe. Hopefully it will be hugely successful, and Sony will release it in the states.

Take me riding in the car car

My nephew just got his learner’s permit. He is so excited about finally getting to drive. He is a total gamer, so my husband gives him the advice that if he wants to learn how to drive a manual transmission car, he should play a game like Poll Position at the local arcade. It can help to get the rhythm of when to shift down and the coordination of using the clutch. Maybe he should just stick to driver’s ed class.
I remember taking driver’s ed in school. We had this simulator that was always broken. You basically watched a film of someone driving on the road and pretended to drive in these cubicles that had a steering wheel and gas and brake pedals. Drivers Ed Direct are helping to update the way kids and even adults learn how to drive. Their online program is already approved in three states to help students reach the goals of drivers ed. How great it would have been to have more learning to drive resources when I was taking drivers ed. Drivers Ed Direct is incorporating the latest technology into their teaching tools like gas-hybrid cars or head curtain airbags.
I’m thinking of getting him Drivers Ed Direct interactive DVD Rules of the Road. It looks like a good resource of information about how to drive in city and rural areas as well as different driving practice scenarios. I’m interested in the DVD, and I’ve been driving for a while now. (Let’s just leave it at that, ok?)
