Mobile Video Games

Mobile Games No Comments »

While browsing the mobile video games available from my carrier, it dawns on me that there are quite a few titles. With all the functionality of phones these days, are people really using their phones to play games?

I bought a solitaire game for my phone. I play it on occasion, but it seems to drain my battery life so I don’t play it that often. It was nice to pass the time while attending to the newborn and having only one free hand. There are some titles I’d like to check out for my phone. Here are a few.

The Sims 2

While I don’t expect this very slim downed version of the Sims 2 to be on par with the PC version, it’ll be interesting to see just how much of this game can actually be translated into such a small arena. I’ll have to save my money for this. This Sims 2 is the most expensive mobile video game I’ve seen. It sells for $7.99.

X-Men 3

Next on my list is X-Men 3. You can play Nightcrawler, Wolverine, or Iceman. The comic book geek in me is really drawn to this one. It’s a dollar cheaper at $6.99.

Q*Bert

I spent a small fortune playing Q*Bert in the arcade so what’s $5.99 more? Retooled for the phone but maintains it’s original appearance, Q*Bert might be the one to get right now.

While mobile video games will never take over the handheld video game market, they do offer a nice way to play some video games anywhere, anytime.

Ladies of Hack website

Way Off Topic No Comments »

Being a huge Knights of the Dinner Table fan and female, it was great to stumble upon www.ladiesofhack.com. The website has plenty of features, even a blogging community.

Ladies of Hack is taken from the KODT comics. It’s an all-female role playing league. It’s nice to see the real Ladies of Hack now have a spot on the web.
